This week in Reception…

We have had such a wonderful week in Reception!

The ducks have hatched! We are so lucky to have 7 ducklings all together in Early Years that have hatched. We have loved looking after the ducklings: topping up their water, ensuring they have enough food and even giving them a bath! We have been learning all about the life-cycle of a duck and taking part in challenges such as painting ducks, making ducklings from playdough adding details of beaks and feathers.

Reception had SO much fun at Belmont farm as our second trip of the year. We explored the farm, looking at the various animals and learning many facts along the way. We really enjoyed petting and feeding the animals, especially the cheeky goats! Reception found the alpaca named Guinness and the naughty cockerel named ‘Atlas’ hilarious! The highlight for Reception was a ride of the tractor around the farm and of course, the picnic lunch!

A huge thank you to the parents who volunteered and helped on the trip; it was a day of fun at the farm!
