This week we began our unit of work on Inventors, specifically Leonardo Da Vinci. The children created a timeline and wrote facts about his life. We learned that Leonardo Da Vinci was born in Italy, and we found out facts and features of this country. Next, we spent time looking at google earth and using an oversized floor map to locate Italy.
Year 2 were interested to learn about other inventors and the variety of marvellous items they had invented. They designed their own information poster to display their learning about the inventors that interested them. Some children even used the iPads to conduct their own research. Can your child match the inventor to their invention?
In Science we learnt about natural and man-made materials. We sorted and classified different things that can and cannot fly onto a Carroll diagram by asking the children to decide whether they were made from natural or man-made materials.
