The children have had a fantastic Book Week and participated in many book related activities, including a teacher book run, daily book clues, mystery readers, a visit by author, Peter Bently, designing book covers and a visit from Belmont librarians. It has been so lovely to see the children’s love of reading come to life, and this was especially evident in our ‘Dress up’ parade. Thank you to all our parents for reading their favourite book to the children- they thoroughly enjoyed it!
In Topic, we continued to focus on our text ‘Fly Kite Fly’ and learnt about Red Kite birds that Giacomo tried to catch in the story. The children researched facts about these birds and asked questions like-
Year 2 were interested to discover the life cycle of red kite birds and studied the terminology of consumers, predators, and prey as part of our Science curriculum.
