Boarding News

The weather is improving, and the temperature is rising, as boarders have been busy studying for internal and external examinations in the last couple of weeks. I have been impressed by the studious atmosphere and ongoing hard work as boarders prepare for these important exams.

Last weekend saw some well timed wellbeing activities at MHI, and my thanks go to Miss Proudlove and Ms Moustafa for arranging these. On Sunday we had a very successful (and messy!) paintballing trip up at Hatfield, which I know many of our pupils really enjoyed. It is good to let off some steam in a positive way sometimes!

This coming weekend is an R&R weekend, although we do have some revision sessions ongoing on Saturday morning. On Sunday afternoon, we will have a trip to go to Shoreditch, visiting London’s iconic Spitalfields Market and the famous Brick Lane, which is full of vintage clothes shops. I expect to see lots of flares, tweed and pink glasses by the end of the weekend!

Last year the boarding team made a decision to combine their Summer Hogs.  The event was such a success that we have decided to do it again.  This year the Festival will be take place on Sunday 26th June on the Head’s Lawn at Mill Hill School, the day after the McClure celebrations.  There will be lots of fun to be had, including inflatables, photo booth,  Popcorn, candyfloss,  karaoke not to mention the ‘soak the teacher’ stall!  There will be a small charge to pupils with all proceeds going to DEC – Ukraine humanitarian appeal. My thanks go to Miss Justice for her organisation of this; we look forward to a hopefully sunny and relaxed gathering as a boarding community to celebrate the end of the year.
