Grimsdell Pre Prep Receives Woodland Trust’s Green Tree Silver Award

We are thrilled to announce that Grimsdell Pre Prep has received Woodland Trust’s Green Tree Silver Award. This prestigious award celebrates outdoor learning and encourages pupils to learn more about plants, trees and wildlife.

Our staff and pupils should be incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication they displayed to be given this award. They organised a variety of creative and fun projects which have improved the local environment and our school grounds. For example, The Eco Committee (made up of Year 1 and 2 pupils) ran a series of assemblies to teach our school community about protecting the environment. Each Reception, Year 1 and 2 class also planted a tree in our school grounds. As a school, we created our very own vegetable patch and pupils connected with nature by spending time outdoors doing different activities such as litter picking.

Ms Richards (Reception Teacher) leads the Eco Committee and shared her feelings about the award:

“I am so pleased to have helped Grimsdell Pre Prep to achieve the Woodland Trust’s Green Tree Silver Award. I am incredibly thankful to our staff and pupils, it would not have been possible without their hard work. I am also extremely proud of our fantastic Eco Committee. They had some wonderful ideas and have helped to implement real change within the school. We still have work to do and don’t plan on stopping at silver!”

This wonderful achievement highlights the hard work our pupils and staff put into making the school a greener place. Congratulations to everyone at Grimsdell Pre Prep.
