McClure Centenary Celebrations – A Beautiful Tribute

We are still buzzing from the excitement of the McClure Centenary Celebrations. It was a truly uplifting event in which the whole Foundation came together to commemorate and honour the life and legacy of Sir John McClure. We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did.

The activities throughout the day showcased just how multi-talented Millhillians, Old Millhillians, Belmontians and Cobham pupils are and how all these talents are equally nurtured and encouraged across The Foundation.

The celebrations started off with the Annual Old Millhillians Day Lunch down at the Cricket Pavilion followed by the day’s sporting activities in the early afternoon, including:

  • Cricket: MHS 1st XI vs OM XI. MHS wins by 14
  • Touch Rugby Tournament: OMs beat MHS winning 6-5
  • Hockey: MHS 1st XI vs OM/Staff 1-3

We then gave thanks to Sir John McClure in our Chapel service, leading guests to the fantastic display from our Corps of Drums on the Quad. They marched guests over to the delicious food and drinks which was followed by the grand musical and fireworks finale; there was something for everyone to be part of and enjoy.

We were brought together to celebrate the life and leadership of Sir John McClure, the longest standing Head of Mill Hill School. Seeing pupils, teachers, staff, Old Millhillians and friends dancing and laughing together in the beautiful Mill Hill grounds was an extremely fitting tribute to his legacy.
