For the Year 2 fabulous finish we travelled to Sealife Adventure, Southend with Year 1. We were blessed with dry weather as we enjoyed a day by the sea. On arrival, the children shouted excitedly as they saw the sea from the coach and then we had a snack on the promenade. As we entered Sealife Adventure in class groups, they were amazed by the array of aquatic creatures to look at. The most popular were by far the sharks in the large aquarium as they swam over our heads!
Even though the children had been asking to eat their lunch as soon as we got off the coach, we waited until it was actually lunchtime! We ate sitting on the steps leading to the beach as we watched the world go by. Next, we had more than enough time to share out the buckets and spades and play on the beach. The children were completely enraptured with the tasks they had given themselves from making sandcastles to burying each other in sand. It was a magnificent day only made possible by the willing staff volunteers- huge thanks for a super day everyone!
