Corps of Drums Shine at the Lord Mayor’s Cadet Music Competition

We are immensely proud of the Corps of Drums who took part in the Lord Mayor’s Cadet Music Competition at Guildhall in central London. It was a very prestigious event with an equally prestigious audience, including, The Representative Lord Mayor, Sir Andrew Parmley, along with others. The Corps of Drums was led by, Stas (Upper Sixth, Weymouth), and they performed magnificently. As a result, the judges unanimously decided that they exceeded the required standard and were more than worthy of the reward. We are so pleased and proud of them all.

Additionally, we were delighted when Alexander (Fifth Form, Cedars) won the solo bugler category after playing a beautiful, note-perfect rendition of, ‘The Assembly,’ ‘The Last Post,’ and ‘Reveille.’ Alexander’s performance did not go unnoticed by Royal Marines Bugle Major, who said that Alex is of professional standard, even hinting he would be welcome to join the Royal Marines Band!

The cadets were an absolute credit to Mill Hill and we have been overwhelmed by the compliments from the spectators. We are greatly looking forward to their next performance as they continue to go from strength to strength.
