This week in Year 2, we wrote a recount of our trip to London Zoo, remembering the sequence of events, what animals we visited and how we felt during the day (using feelings we had discussed in PSHE). The children were encouraged to use interesting vocabulary and remember capital letters/full stops. Following this, the children used the website Kiddle, non-fiction books and information learnt on our trip, to research facts about tigers. The children displayed their knowledge on Seesaw and shared it with the class. In computing, we will be converting our newfound facts about tigers into a tiger information leaflet using keyboard skills and a template. Finally, the children learned about tiger food chains and the flow of energy between each path and they created their own food chain to display their understanding.
