Meet Ms Wong

Meet Ms Wong, Head of Games, Activities Co-ordinator and Pupil Voice Co-ordinator at Mill Hill School. We Spoke to Ms Wong to find out a bit more about her and her role.

How long have you worked at Mill Hill School?

I started at Mill Hill School in 2018 as a Sports Graduate Assistant. After leaving for the academic year of 2021/22, I am happy to have returned to the School in a new role this year!

What does your role involve?

I am Head of Games, Activities Co-ordinator and Pupil Voice Co-ordinator. My role involves overseeing the running of the Games programme, creating and managing the Activities programme and Activities Week. I also take the lead on ‘Pupil Voice’. As a part of this scheme, I arrange meetings with pupils and members of staff such as Mrs Sanchez.

In these meetings, pupils are given the opportunity to voice their opinions about all aspects of school life. I love hearing the pupils give their points of view and participate in discussions with members of staff so articulately.

What is your favourite thing about Mill Hill School?

Truthfully, my favourite thing is watching the sunset over the grounds from Top Terrace but apart from that, it’s the wealth of opportunities we offer at Mill Hill School. There is truly something for everyone here, and the staff always go the extra mile to make every pupils’ experience at Mill Hill School the best it can possibly be.

Do you have any advice for our pupils which could help them to get the most out of their time at Mill Hill School?

Get involved and try something new! Each term, sign up for something that you would not usually try and see if you like it. Whether you have an exciting time taking part with friends or participate on your own to make new friends, you may find something you enjoy, which also makes your School life even better!

Can you tell us something that we might not know about you?

I play Ultimate Frisbee and have previously represented Great Britain in the Under 24 Mixed Championships. Over the Summer, my club team (Reading Ultimate) finished 8th at the World Ultimate Club Championships in the USA and 2nd at the European Club Championships in a nail-biting final!

Ultimate Frisbee will be a Games option in the Summer Term for the Removes and Seniors, so if you are interested, look on YouTube to see how it works!

Thanks go to Ms Wong for taking the time to answer our questions. It was a pleasure to learn more about Ms Wong and we are lucky to have such a passionate individual at Mill Hill School.
