Mr Berg Leads Anti-Bullying Week Chapel Service

We held a fantastic chapel service today led by Mr Berg (Head of Religious Studies) concerning Anti-Bullying Week. This year’s theme is, ‘Reach Out’, and the service carried an important message that to challenge and prevent bullying, we must start by reaching out to others.

When Mr Berg was writing this Chapel Service, he admitted that he was shocked by the vast range of people who have had experiences with bullying. He used the example of Lady Gaga, who said: “I remember things that my bullies said to me in front of other people. And no one said anything. Nobody said to me, are you okay? Are you fine?”

Mr Berg encouraged our pupils to reach out to someone if they need someone to talk to or know of someone else who is having a hard time. Mr Berg stressed how reaching out can have transformative effects, and although it may sometimes take courage, it can save lives. It opened everyone’s eyes that to see the change we want to see in the world, we must be the change.

We encourage our entire School community to always be supportive and reach out to those in need, helping to put an end to bullying.
