This week in Nursery…

The children returned to school and a few things were different in the classroom! The home corner had become a little smaller and the children now have a role-play area which is a fancy dress shop. The children have loved this, and have pretended to be many different characters over the week and enjoyed being a shopkeeper and selling all the clothes too.

In Nursery, we also have a painting station by the easel. In this space, the children can access the paint independently and create new colours for their artwork. The children have loved exploring this area and it has encouraged independence, greater creativity and links to colour mixing.

The children have also begun rolling snack in class. This means that the children can access their snack at any time throughout their session. The children have remembered all the rules and are becoming more independent coming up and getting their snack whenever they feel hungry.

This week we have also had great fun with many different activities linked to Halloween and autumn. The children have been exploring the autumn leaves and noticing the differences and similarities between them. They have also been hammering pegs into pumpkins, making autumn patterns and creating spiders and pumpkins with Halloween coloured playdough.

Today the children explored autumn vegetables; they peeled, chopped and cut them to make them to make a delicious vegetable soup. Yummy!
