This week in Reception, we have been learning about lots of celebrations. We enjoyed Halloween on Monday where we liked dressing up, making potions, drawing pumpkins and flying spooky ghosts. We learnt all about Diwali which was celebrated during the half term, we made Diva lamps, made our own Rangoli patterns and listened to stories all about the festival of light. To finish off the week we spoke about fireworks night this weekend. We thought about sounds the fireworks might make, the different colours we may see and then made our own firework pictures. I think the favourite activity was making edible sparklers with chocolate (YUM!)
We also enjoyed our first open house, share and learn session; it was so nice welcoming our lovely families into our classrooms. We shared our journals, showed off our classrooms and played so nicely with our friends. We can’t wait for the next one!
