Year 8 Trip to the Museum of Docklands

Last Friday Year 8 visited the Museum of Docklands and were given a tour of West India Quay to enhance their understanding of the Transatlantic Slave Trade. The tour allowed pupils to see the Import Docks where the Trade Triangle began, where goods left London on route to West Africa as well as the Export Docks and Warehouses where the products grown in the Caribbean by slave labour would end up being sold for a huge profit. Inside the Museum, we concentrated on the work of the abolition movement and the individuals who campaigning to bring an end to the Slave Trade.
