Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Update

Young people are facing unprecedented challenges and it is vital and critical to help our young people build their resilience – both emotionally and physically. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Programme (DofE), as a globally acclaimed programme, helps equip and prepare young people to strengthen their skills and leadership abilities and we are incredibly fortunate to run this programme as part of Co-Curricular option. With all the challenges surrounding young lives, it is imperative to make the DofE more relevant and important than ever and we as a Foundation are fully invested to make this possible for our pupils.

Pupils undertaking DofE at Mill Hill had an amazing stint of opportunities to engage with Silver Award Programme. We are hugely indebted to Mr Gifford, for his input and leadership over the last three years with the programme.  Recently, 10 of pupils completed their Silver Award and had their achievements celebrated during assembly. This year, we have 39 Remove pupils undertaking the Silver Award and we are looking forward to an exciting adventure with them. Sixth Form pupils are excited to be starting the Gold Award in January 2023.

Our primary vision, alongside building our pupils’ lives for better, is also to build meaningful community partnerships with a range of charities and organisations in the UK and abroad. We are excited and passionate to run with the mission of Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Programme and our own ethos to instil values for life through inspiration and courage.
