Meet Mrs Watters

Meet Mrs Louise Watters, Director of Learning support at Belmont. We were extremely fortunate to speak to Louise to find out more about her and her role.

It is clear Louise is extremely committed to supporting her pupils, encouraging them to be the best they can be and equipping them with growth and development opportunities. She clearly takes great pride and joy in seeing all that they achieve!

How long have you worked at Belmont?

I am in my 4th year at Belmont! Throughout my time here I have loved working with all of the pupils and staff at the School.

What does your role involve?

My role involves coordinating the support for pupils with additional learning needs such as dyslexia, as well as supporting the EAL Co-Ordinator.

What is your favourite thing at Belmont?

I have got to say the pupils! They never cease to amaze me with all they accomplish, even after four years.

Do you have any advice for our pupils which could help them to get the most out of their time at Belmont?

My advice would be to try your best, and remember that you are only in competition with yourself.

What is your favourite book and film for our pupils and why?

This is a tough one for someone who is a qualified English teacher! I have to say Little Women by Louisa May Alcott because it’s an engaging and well written book.

Could you share an inspirational quote with us? How does it inspire you?

I have two quotes which I find really inspiring. Firstly, “Isn’t it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?” – Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. This serves as a reminder to always look forwards and that each day is exactly what you make it.

Secondly, “I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.” – Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. This quote tells us to never be afraid of life’s challenges and obstacles because they always provide opportunities to learn and grow.
