Year 4 Mountain Climbing

Never afraid of a challenge, our very own Head of Geography, Mr Hayward, paid the Year 4’s a visit to teach them the basics of mountain climbing! The children are learning about mountains for their latest Creative Learning Project and the intrepid Mr Hayward soon inspired them with his tales of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and other major mountains of the world.

He also showed them the kind of equipment needed, underlining the importance of being prepared for such an undertaking. A few lucky ones got to try his amazing, insulated coat and gloves!

“I really enjoyed the talk and learned so much!” said Aristos after disappearing inside his coat. Arabella was equally enthused following her “boxing” session using the biggest gloves she had ever seen! Thank you, Mr Hayward!
