Year 3 Reading Road Map

Year 3 are continuing their Reading Road Map journey. Encouraged to read a range of genres, the children are engaging with the programme and are making pleasing progress with their reading confidence and enjoyment.

A big well done to all the Year 3 children who are working hard on this challenge! If your child has misplaced their Reading Road Map, please do contact their form tutor who will organise a replacement map for them.

Year 4 and 5 Reading Challenge

Congratulations to the following who have been awarded their Reading Challenge badges so far this term:

Spring Term
Bronze Freddie 4NH, Tiare 4EP, Huda 4EP, Jack 4TB, Amelia D 4TB, Luca 4TB, Mark 4NH, Sofia 4NH
*Bronze Advanced Harriet 5AD
*Gold Advanced Teah 5CC

*Historic Reading Challenge path

NB – efforts have been made to ensure that all those who have received badges this term are named above. If your child’s name has been left out, this is an oversight on my part, and I do apologise. Please contact me and I will ensure that they are recognised next time.

I have really enjoyed seeing the different range of book reviews being produced and have been impressed by the creativity shown. We have had book covers, videos, drawings, quizzes, 3D models and more!

We want the children to read for pleasure however it is essential that a range of reading genres is explored and that children are encouraged to read books with some degree of challenge. Shared reading or audiobooks are a great way to help your child access books that are more challenging.

I hope that more Year 4 and Year 5 pupils will choose to start working towards their Reading Challenge badges. Information about the Reading Challenge can be found in the Lower School area on Firefly as well as a recommended reading list for Years 3 to 5 (these are also available in the Library Google Classroom).
