Margaret’s Mind Musical

Over sixty pupils thrilled audiences this half-term with their production of Margaret’s Mind: A New Musical.

Staging an original musical is perhaps the greatest challenge in theatre but the cast, crew and band succeeded spectacularly in every respect. Audiences praised the passion, energy and professionalism shown by every member of the company, as well as of course the remarkable talent on stage. Zoe S and Amelie R led the cast as the eponymous Margaret – whose debilitating social-anxiety and low self-esteem make every day of adolescence a struggle. The cast demonstrated outstanding empathy and sensitivity towards important topics, telling a story of self-love brimming with humour and heart.

Off-stage, the professional-standard lighting was designed by Sammy M, who was capably assisted with operation by Noah S. Alfie C, having acted as Assistant Director throughout the rehearsal process, ran the (incredibly complex) show from the wings with faultless professionalism, and the band, led by Mr Siebertz, brought the original score to life beautifully. Miss Buckingham’s choreography provided many of the production’s most show-stopping moments, and highlighted the depth of performing arts talent at Mill Hill School.

A huge congratulations to all involved, and we look forward to seeing you all at more co-curricular productions later in the year!
