Year 7 Trip to Hampton Court Palace

On the Friday before half term, Year 7 went on a visit to Hampton Court Palace to develop their understanding of the Tudor period. Despite the cold, it was a beautiful sunny day and the Palace, and its gardens looked magnificent.

The pupils were wowed by the grandeur of the Great Hall and warmed by the fires in the Tudor Kitchen. We were able to see the paintings from the Tudor Dynasty that we had seen in class and bring to life our understanding of Tudor religious beliefs in the Royal Chapel.

The children had fun exploring the maze and were able to watch a game of Real Tennis. Many of the Palace staff commented on the wonderful behaviour of our pupils and praised the intelligent questions that they posed. We were all very proud of them.
