Old Millhillians Club Update

The Old Millhillians Club is one of the largest active alumni clubs in the UK. The Club always enjoys a packed calendar of wonderful events throughout the year. Old Millhillians (OMs) and pupils are frequent attendees at Club events, and some Mill Hill parents have joined recent career networking events.

The Club has recently held several Professional Networking Events at exceptional London locations. Each event is focused on a different career sector and is an excellent opportunity for OMs to network and learn from others.

The annual Medical Event at The Lansdowne Club in Mayfair was an informative and special evening. The guest speaker, Dr Salvatore Viscomi MD (Chief Medical Officer at Goodcell in the USA), spoke about the virtually unlimited potential of stem cell therapeutics to treat a wide range of diseases.

At the Engineers Event, world-renowned and eminent scientist Professor Gautam Kalghatgi gave a fascinating talk to OMs and pupils at the Bleeding-Heart Restaurant. He provided an alternative view on the practicalities of the ‘Net Zero’ target.

The Property Dinner held at the impressive Cavalry and Guards Club in Green Park, celebrated their 40th anniversary with a delicious three-course meal, plenty of lively conversation and an entertaining talk by Club President Chris Kelly.

The City Event held at the Lansdowne Club, was fortunate to welcome guest speaker Dipankar Shewaram (Partner and Head of Investment Solutions at Capital Generation Partners), who motivated guests with his talk on ‘Investing in a New Political and Inflationary World’, followed by a praiseworthy Q&A session.

At the end of April, the Club welcomed back the 2013 leavers for their 10-year anniversary. It was marvellous to see so many old faces back at the School and The Crick Room walls bore witness to many tales being shared from years gone by. It was the first time many had seen each other since leaving and we heard they’ve now set up a 2013 leavers WhatsApp group to plan more gatherings!

Earlier this month, the Club held a memorable lunch in Cambridge for the East Anglia Reunion. This was attended by some current OM Cambridge students and a few OMs who attended Cambridge many decades ago! In addition, The Old Millhillians Liverymen met for their annual lunch at the splendid Guildhall in London, where the Master of the Liverymen, OM Adrian Williams, handed over the reins to OM Adrian Padfield.

On 24 June, The Foundation and Old Millhillians Club warmly invite all OMs back to the School for Old Millhillians Day. It is set to be a glorious day of sporting fixtures, familiar faces, delicious tea and, with luck, plenty of sunshine. We hope to see many of you there. To sign up, please click here
