Year 6 Trip to France

On 25 April, 91 Year 6 pupils and 13 staff set off for the Stella Maris Holiday Centre near Etaples sur Mer in Northern France.

During the trip they were able to visit Nausicaa, the aquarium in Boulogne, the museum commemorating the Battle of Agincourt made famous in Shakespeare’s Henry V, the First World War Cemetery near Etaples and a local supermarket.

They all learned how chocolate is made in all its varieties, and were able to use their French language skills to complete their purchases in the local market.

It was an excellent trip and the pupils were outstanding – probably the best-behaved Year 6 pupils during the many years in which I have been organising this trip.

Thank you to Miss Black who helped with the organisation of groups and bedrooms, and to all of the teachers who gave up their time to accompany these pupils to France.
