This week in Music…

We have had the most wonderful end to the week with a sensational performance from our Reception classes. After a “Wild and Wonderful” term they took to the stage for ‘Twist and Hop Minibeast Bop’, based on the book by Tony Mitton. The story took us to the woods where the minibeasts donned their fanciest attire for the fabulous annual ‘Minibeast ball’.

The children worked so hard to learn their songs and dances and every child confidently delivered a line whilst handling a microphone. It was lovely to see how much the children enjoyed the experience; they performed with such energy and huge smiles on their faces. They gave their best air guitar in ‘I’m Still Standing’, mastered the hand jive in ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll’ and wowed us with the original, iconic ‘Proud Mary’ Tina Turner moves! They were focused and knew exactly where to move to and what position to be in at all times. Whilst watching them, it was easy to forget that the children are only 4 and 5 years old! I was incredibly proud of them and the confidence they portrayed in their first big production at Grimsdell. Well done, Reception!
