The children returned after the half term break to find that, yet another backpack and letter had been delivered from Steve Backshall. This time it contained a book, some video clips on QR code and some tribal artefacts. We also heard the sounds of Yanomami people talking. This prompted our research into the tribe to learn about the similarities and differences between our daily life compared with a tribal child.
In English the children enjoyed writing about their half term holiday. They also learned about different types of letters: informal and formal, and the features of this genre of writing. In reply to Steve Backshall, they wrote individual letters describing what rainforest animal they had chosen to research and their experience of handling different animals in the Zoolab workshop.
