Exciting Additions to the Co-Curricular Program

It has been an exciting term for the Co-Curricular programme with the Martlet and Remove Leadership Programmes in full swing alongside the 180+ activities throughout the week. We have two notable additions to the Co-Curricular programme this year: Dance and Fencing.

Miss Buckingham joins us this term after ten years of experience in the West End, touring productions and regional theatre to bring Dance to Mill Hill. The introduction into the Martlet programme immerses the Fourth Form into a new world of movement and allows pupils to discover a new form of exercise. Miss Buckingham has also begun a Dance Troupe, which invites auditions from strong, passionate dancers with an interest in jazz, modern, contemporize, lyrical and commercial styles, with the aim of performing and competing for the school and beyond.

Secondly, our exciting association with Leon Paul has launched in recent weeks. Leon Paul is one of the leading Fencing coaching teams who trains most of the UK’s top sabre fencers and we are very fortunate to have them developing our young Fencers. We are offering both advanced (Mondays) and beginners (Wednesdays) sessions during the week with the aim to enter and succeed at national tournaments.

With an array of activities on offer, it has been a delight to see the halls bustling with pupils going from lessons to activities with smile on their face and willingness to take advantage of all that Mill Hill has to offer. Whether pupils are eager to join the CCF, drama productions or the musical ensembles, we pride ourselves in the breadth of activities for all. Pupil led activities are always welcomed and numerous initiatives have developed as a result – Uno Club, J-SOC and Afro Caribbean Society to name a few. Should any pupils wish to put forward any ideas, please speak to our Pupil Voice representatives, use the QR codes displayed in Houses or contact Miss Wong via Imogen.wong@millhill.org.uk.
