One of the highlights of the Autumn Term in the Spanish Department has been the participation in the prestigious XI (11th) Annual Hispanic Theatre Competition on the 12 October, hosted by North London Collegiate School. Mill Hill School has been participating in the competition for more than five years now, accumulating prizes making our pupils and the School proud. The competition was fierce given the high level of twelve competing groups, including private schools from North London, such as Eton and The Haberdashers, amongst others.
Mill Hill School performed a play called ‘La Llamada’, which is an adaptation of a Spanish musical shortened into ten minutes. Our pupils have had to prove beautiful theatrical skills as it included a range of variety of characters, moving from religious nuns to Bad Bunny teenage fanatics. Through this, our pupils have proven that they can use the language and maintain a whole performance at a native Spanish level.
Our pupils have shown an incredible amount of commitment, as it was all put together in one month, including rehearsals during lunch times, after school and even on Saturdays. It all came to fruition with the marvellous and hilarious performance that our pupils performed, demonstrating their talent through their acting skills and impressive linguistic abilities. The pupils represented the school with pride after such a remarkable performance.
