Mill Hill School and Saracens Partnership Launch Event

The evening was filled with excitement, promise, and a strong sense of community as we celebrated the official launch of this incredible collaboration with Saracens.

Before the main event commenced, guests had a unique opportunity to observe the 1st XV rugby team during their training session on Top Field whilst Mill Hill School Music Scholars played an excellent jazz set on the Head’s Lawn led by the new Director of Musical Performance, Mr Hanson.

As a bonus, senior players were privileged to participate in a scrum-half masterclass led by Ivan van Zyl, a Saracens Rugby Player and South African International.

Warm Welcome and Interactive Sessions:
The evening began with a warm welcome from our Head, Mrs Sanchez, setting the stage for what was to be an engaging and interactive experience for all in attendance. Our special guests, experts in rugby and netball, graciously engaged with eager pupils and parents, answering questions and sharing their insights.

The First Q&A Panel:
Our first panel featured an illustrious lineup, including:
– Lucy Wray, Saracens Group CEO
– Phil Morrow, Saracens General Manager
– Chris Bajak, Saracens Academy Coach and Mill Hill School Head of Performance Rugby
– Jodie Gibson, Saracens Mavericks Netball player and Mill Hill School Head of Netball
– Ivan Van Zyl, Saracens Rugby Player and South African International Player

The Second Q&A Panel:
Following the initial panel, we shifted our focus to some of our very own Mill Hill School representatives who are at the forefront of our sports programmes:

– Toby S (McClure), 1st XV Captain
– Sasha T (Winfield), 1st VII Captain
– Rafael V B (Murray), 1st XV player and Saracens Academy Player
– Rosie P (Cedars), 1st VII Netball player and Mavericks Academy Player

The engaging conversations that unfolded during these sessions left everyone feeling inspired and eager about the bright future of rugby and netball at Mill Hill School.

The Saracens Partnership Launch was a resounding success, fostering a sense of anticipation and optimism among pupils, parents, and guests alike. It illuminated the incredible potential for growth and development in rugby and netball at our school, which we will work towards in partnership with the Saracens Group.

Stay tuned for more updates and developments as we continue this journey together.
