Sports Season Kick Off

As we kick off another exciting sports season at Mill Hill School, we are thrilled to share some highlights and updates from our hockey, rugby, netball, and football teams. It has been an action-packed start, and our pupil-athletes have showcased their dedication and talent on and off the field.

Senior Hockey and Rugby Teams Shine at Preseason Residential:
Our senior hockey and rugby teams set the tone for the season with their commitment and hard work during the preseason residential. Staying in the Boarding Houses, they underwent rigorous training for their first matches, promising an exceptional season ahead.

Shirt Presentation Evening with Tom Wolstencroft:
The 1st XV Rugby team and 1st XI Hockey team had a memorable evening in the Chapel as they were presented with their shirts. The presence of special guest Tom Wolstencroft and last year’s Captains, Lauren Dickin (2018-23) and George Woodings (2015-23) added to the excitement, and it was a proud moment with parents and staff in attendance.

Foundation Day Victories:
The season got off to a fantastic start with notable victories on Foundation Day. The 1st XV Rugby team triumphed over St. George’s Harpenden with a score of 15-7, demonstrating their skill and teamwork. Meanwhile, the 1st XI Hockey Team dominated a Hampstead and Westminster U18 Academy side with a commanding 5-1 win both teams enjoyed being drummed on by the Mill Hill School Corps of Drums and being supported by sizeable crowds.

Performance Program Success:
The newly introduced two-term performance program has already borne fruit. The 1st XI Football and 1st VII Netball teams have been training and competing during the Autumn term, achieving remarkable wins. The football team secured a thrilling 2-1 victory over Chigwell School in the ISFA Cup, while the netball girls displayed their prowess by defeating UCS with a score of 30-27.

International Encounters:
Mill Hill School continues to foster international sportsmanship by hosting and participating in matches from teams across the globe. Our swim team hosted Colegio Northlands, an Argentinian school on a European tour, marking our first swim meet of the year. Additionally, the rugby team had the privilege of hosting The Grange from Chile, and the girls’ hockey team faced off against Collingwood School from Vancouver during their preseason, strengthening our global connections through sport.

We are immensely proud of our pupils for their dedication and achievements thus far. We look forward to more thrilling matches and memorable moments as the season progresses. Stay tuned for further updates and join us in supporting our talented teams.

Best wishes for a successful season ahead!
