Meet Ms Evangeline Douglas

Meet Evangeline Douglas, the new Senior Administrator and PA to Deputy Head. We spoke to Ms Douglas to learn more about her and her role.

How long have you worked at the school?

I am relatively new to the Mill Hill Schools, and I joined Grimsdell in July 2023. Everyone has been so welcoming, and I really enjoy working here. I have definitely hit the ground running, but I love the challenge!

What does your role involve?

The school office is the hub of the school, and it’s the first port of call for our whole school community. My role as Senior Administrator is to ensure I support, organise, and manage all administrative duties for the school.

What is your favourite thing at the school?

I love interacting with the children; the little chats we have are really sweet. The team here are wonderful, including our school dog Holly (she often keeps us company in the office!), which makes working here so enjoyable. I feel like I’ve been part of the team for years.

Do you have any advice for our pupils which could help them to get the most out of their time at the school?

We have some lovely resources at Grimsdell, such as our Forest School and our Library, to name but a few. Outdoor learning is such a huge part of our school, and reading is something you’ll never grow out of, so never stop being a bookworm!

What is your favourite book and film for our pupils and why?

My favourite book is No Matter What by Debi Gliori. It’s a lovely, reassuring book about the unconditional love we have for our children, no matter what. It’s a sentimental favourite with my children. As for films, anything Disney is always a huge hit!

Could you share an inspirational quote with us? How does it inspire you?

If you stumble, make it part of the dance! Missteps and mistakes are part of life’s learnings, so make those stumbles part of the dance!

Can you tell us something that we might not know about you?

I went to stage school, and I have performed on stage with the English National Ballet. I then trained in classical ballet and contemporary dance at Ballet Rambert School. I love watching ballet and musical theatre, so if I have an opportunity to see a performance, I take it!
