Sixth Formers Smash Fundraising Goals for Movember

In a remarkable display of our community spirit and commitment, our Sixth Formers have surpassed all expectations by raising an impressive £6,428* for this year’s Movember campaign (smashing their original target of £3,000 and an increase from last year’s total of £1,200), highlighting the incredible commitment and passion of all our pupils involved. They secured fourth position in the country in the school’s fundraising leaderboard.

Led by our Upper Sixth pupils, Benji C (Priestley), Ethan S (School), and Toby S (McClure) along with others, the campaign goes further than fundraising as it raises awareness of the need to have these vital conversations about men’s health. As the Movember campaign states, ‘Mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer – we’re taking them all on’.

To further boost the fundraising efforts, on Saturday 25 November the 1st XV Rugby game against St Albans was dedicated to Movember, providing those the opportunity to contribute.

Ethan S (School) said ‘No man should have to bear the weight of their struggles alone, no man should feel ashamed of the way they feel’.

Mr Benson, said ‘They want to show all men young or old that it is okay to not be okay and ask for help. It is part of their mission to show everyone that it doesn’t make you any less of a man to show you’re struggling or to ask for help from a mate. We are exceptionally proud of the team for leading the campaign at the school, thank you for all the hard work which has gone into this’.
