We were honoured to have received a talk about The Business of Film led by Rick Senat (OM), where he shared his extensive knowledge and insights with our pupils who are eager to explore a business career in the arts. The event, organised by the Old Millhillians Club and chaired by Creative Arts volunteer Tom Lincoln (OM), provided a unique opportunity for our pupils to gain valuable perspectives on the workings of the film industry.
Accompanying Rick was Jonathan Sands (OM), who worked with Rick on the founding of Harry Potter retail and among other enterprises.
Rick Senat’s Impressive Background:
Rick Senat is a film industry veteran who spent 25 years as a Senior Business Affairs Executive at Warner Bros. He is associated with several notable projects including the Harry Potter films, Batman, and Superman. Rick’s contributions extended beyond Warner Bros. as he owned Hammer Film Productions and served as Vice Chair of the British Film Institute. Recent productions as Executive Producer include A Casual Vacancy for the BBC and HBO. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald for Warner Bros. Blithe Spirit and The Midwich Cuckoos for Sky in 2022. With a background in law, Rick currently holds various positions, including Non-Executive Chairman of Mad Dog/2020 Casting and Drylab Media Tech Group, as well as being a Visiting Professor at Lincoln University.
