McClure Instrumental Concert

The McClure Instrumental Prize 2024 Heats built through their crescendo to the climax of the Final last week, with 13 unique and stellar solo and ensemble performances by the talented Mill Hill School’s  Music pupils. This was a special evening – each finalist created a unique space in which to acquit themselves outstandingly after some pre-concert coaching from our guest adjudicator, Ms Letty Stott (International Chamber Coach and Head of Performance at specialist Music school, Wells Cathedral). What a celebration of the peak of artistic achievement even in a busy term, from the skilled promise of the intermediate class to diploma level as the Post-Grade 8 category took centre stage. Adam G (Priestley) was our deserved winner, commanding the keys and the room with his assured and mature performance of Rachmaninov’s Prelude in G Minor. It was another jewel in the 2023-2024 Music calendar and congratulations to all of the performers for what they achieved and what they can take away to move forward.
