With the constantly changing landscape of Higher Education and employment here in the UK and globally, Mill Hill School seeks to offer comprehensive support and guidance for both pupils and parents. To this end, Miss Sharples is our full time University & Post School Guidance Counsellor.

Approximately 95% of our U6 Leavers go on to University or other Higher Education courses – a tradition we are very proud of here at Mill Hill. Routes in to Higher Education and employment are, however, changing and here at Mill Hill, we are keen to provide guidance and support via both traditional and alternative routes such as the ‘Higher Apprenticeship’. The implementation of the ‘Apprenticeship Levy’ in April of 2017, we have started to see a wealth of ‘Degree Apprenticeship’ programmes being developed and offered over the next few years in the UK. Currently, major employers such as PwC and the Bank of England in recent years, have seen the benefit of recruiting young people at 18+, to train within their businesses, whilst providing the opportunity to obtain a BA or BSc degree in conjunction with universities at the same time. We will be continually developing our knowledge and ability to advise in such areas and Mr Normington, Higher Education Assistant, will be leading on this area.
This contains a wealth of information for pupils to access with all the current guidance booklets, templates and presentations for the current cycles of Apply (UCAS) or for the USA or beyond. Links exist for international testing dates and arrangements and testing support and courses available to book. New resources are constantly added to this site for pupils of all ages to access but with a Sixth Form focus.
Miss Sharples is based in the Sixth Form Centre full time to facilitate easy access to guidance and support.
