A Pupils Journey

An International Pupils Journey to Success

Step 1:

Located in beautiful parkland, just 30 minutes from Central London, Mill Hill Summer School provides the perfect starting point in any international pupil’s Mill Hill journey.

Our Summer School courses are aimed at both pupils who will be joining British Boarding Schools and at those who wish to sample British education in the summer. We offer courses to ages 12- 17, combining English learning with Mathematics and Science or Sport. These core elements are complemented by a varied programme of Creative Activity classes, which include Music, Dance, Drama, I.T. and Art. Although the focus of our courses is on academic progress, the varied social programme and the exciting range of sports, activities and excursions ensures that students will find their summer both stimulating and rewarding.

Courses last from 2- 8 weeks and enable young learners to consolidate their knowledge of English, whilst gaining an insight in to life in a British boarding school.

Step 2:

Some of our Summer School students take the next step in their journey to Mill Hill International School.

Our Year 9 course is designed for pupils preparing to study GCSEs in the UK from Year 10. Pupils who arrive at the start of Year 10 follow a traditional Two-Year GCSE course with 8-12 GCSE subjects. The One-Year GCSE course is an intensive programme designed to prepare pupils for A Levels. Usually five GCSE subjects are studied with additional subjects offered according to ability and interest. Our intensive Fast Track course is ideally suitable to students who require an English Language Foundation programme which will prepare them for our One-Year GCSE course. Equally, the course is ideal for those who plan to return to their own country with an enhanced level of spoken and written English after a minimum of one term.

Mill Hill International is an ideal bridge to an international pupil’s next school and many of our pupils apply to Mill Hill School to study GCSEs in Year ten or A Levels in the Sixth Form. We help pupils with their applications by preparing them for the entrance tests and interview process.

Step 3:

Mill Hill School is a leading co-educational day and boarding school. We offer GCSE and A Level courses and have an international reputation for academic excellence. Our 2017 GCSE results were the best on record with 63% of all passes at A* or A grade and at A Level 43% of all passes were A* or A grade. Our pupils progress to a wide range of courses in prestigious UK and oversees universities with five gaining places at Oxford or Cambridge in 2017. We also encourage pupils to participate in our wide range of sporting, musical and other co-curricular activities, developing skills which will provide enrichment and build character and confidence.
