How did you find out about the bursary scheme? I found out about bursaries after being encouraged by teachers at my primary school to go for the 11+ exams. We did some research, and Mill Hill had the best balance of all the things I wanted in a school: co-educational, lots of green space, family-friendly, and still in London!

What’s the best thing about Mill Hill? The best part is all its parts in equal measure! I loved being able to explore so many different interests that I never would've discovered otherwise, like CCF, the Corps of Drums, or cross-country running, but I also grew into my love of books with the English Society and library facilities.

What is the one piece of advice you would give to a pupil thinking of joining Mill Hill? Keep and open mind and an open heart. Try everything at least once, and always be kind!

How did you find out about the bursary scheme? I discovered the bursary programme after taking the 240 bus past Mill Hill School and being curious about what the school offered. I had high aspirations of studying Law at the University of Cambridge, and my secondary school could not provide the support I needed. As soon as I found out about the bursary programme and visited the school, I knew I had to apply.

What’s the best thing about Mill Hill?
One of my favourite things about Mill Hill will always be the community. Every single teacher and member of support staff went above and beyond to ensure that Mill Hill was a place where I could learn, thrive and be myself. This support ensured that I was able to adjust smoothly and deepen my intellectual curiosity.

What is the one piece of advice you would give to a pupil thinking of joining Mill Hill?
I would say: try everything! There is so much on offer, including clubs I never imagined existed, and through them I met some of my closest friends. If you’re thinking of applying, go for it.

It is such a rich environment in all sorts of ways. I immediately got stuck in with music and sports. My overall feeling about Mill Hill is that the teachers really cared about the School and were really dedicated to the pupils.

What is the one piece of advice you would give to a pupil thinking of joining Mill Hill?
I would say explore everything! Mill Hill enabled me to explore different parts of myself and my interests, and I’m a much more rounded person because of it.
