Lunchtime with Jeremy Finch

Last Friday, pupils were treated to ‘Lunchtime with Jeremy Finch’.

Jeremy, accompanied by Mrs Kyle on the piano, gave a recital of famous classical and musical theatre vocal repertoire including music from West Side Story and Mary Poppins. Jeremy’s recital was a little different from normal as he used the opportunity to share his experience and performing thought-processes before demonstrating his choices in each of his songs. Having trained at Cambridge University and RADA, Jeremy is an expert actor and story teller and the audience were spell bound for the entire recital. Jeremy’s career highlights also include: The Producers at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, The UK tour of Sunset Boulevard, the title role in Candide for English National Opera, as well as performances for radio and television; including working with Tom Hanks in HBO’s Band of Brothers. Jeremy also teaches voice and singing at LAMDA and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. The pupils and staff also had the opportunity for a brief Q and A after the recital. A wonderful way to spend a Friday lunchtime.
