Reception have been thinking about friendships this week. We started with circle time where the children shared what they felt made a good friend. In guided reading, we have been reading the book ‘Sharing Shell’ by Julia Donaldson and talking about acts of kindness and ways we can help at home and in the classroom. In computing, the children designed a cake and then we made some cakes to give to a special friend. Mrs Golden also came into class to teach the children how to take a photo of each other for a portrait and the children had to think of a kind thing to say to each other. The children came up with some lovely comments, what good friends they all are!
REJ enjoyed their first mindfulness session led by Mrs Altbach in which she reinforced our work on friendships and we were able to start our day very calmly and positively.
