Careers Highlights
This half term has seen a rich and varied careers programme at Mill Hill, with pupils benefiting from an exciting range of talks, visits and curriculum-based careers learning. From our highly attended lunchtime lecture series to university and employer visits, pupils across all year groups have had opportunities to develop their understanding of future pathways and the skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing world of work.
Lunchtime Insights
Our popular Lunchtime Insights programme welcomed a number of inspiring speakers from diverse professional backgrounds.
Careers in Financial Planning with Frontier Wealth
Old Millhillian Sasan Lohrasb (Priestley, 2002–07), Advising Principal at Frontier Wealth, delivered an engaging session on the importance of financial planning and how it can help individuals prepare for their future. We are also delighted that Frontier Wealth will be hosting two Mill Hill pupils for work experience during the half term break, providing valuable first-hand insight into the financial services sector.
From Languages to Leadership with Jo Greenfield
We were pleased to shine a joint spotlight on Languages and Business through a talk from Jo Greenfield, Senior Vice President, Europe at BCD Travel. Jo shared her inspiring career journey, from studying Spanish and Portuguese to leading large international teams across Southern Europe. Pupils gained valuable insights into the importance of communication, cultural awareness and relationship-building in today's global workplace.
Pathways into Law with Rachael Guan
Our final lunchtime session of the half term explored routes into the legal profession. Pupils learned about the variety of pathways available within law and gained a valuable understanding of what graduate recruiters look for in aspiring legal professionals.
Trips
WoW Day of the Girl
Six of our Upper Sixth pupil leaders attended the WoW Day of the Girl speed mentoring event on the London Eye, joining 150 students from schools across London. The event provided an opportunity to meet and learn from inspiring women working across a wide range of industries.
Imperial College London Visit
Fifteen Lower Sixth pupils visited Imperial College London's South Kensington campus, where they heard from current students and gained a valuable insight into university life, academic opportunities and future progression routes.
Goldman Sachs Apprenticeship Insight Day
Ten Lower Sixth pupils attended a Goldman Sachs Apprenticeship Insight Day, learning more about apprenticeships as an alternative route to university. The session offered an excellent opportunity to explore professional pathways within the financial sector and hear directly from industry professionals.
We look forward to building on this momentum next half term with our ongoing calendar of careers events that will spotlight Sport, studying PPE and pathways in property. See the full careers calendar for the Autumn term here.
