Charities

What a busy yet incredibly rewarding term it has been, with pupils across the year groups coming together to make a meaningful difference through a wide range of charitable and community initiatives.

Our Remove pupils have shown outstanding commitment in their weekly visits to Oakleigh School, where they have worked alongside pupils with special educational needs, building confidence, empathy and genuine connections. Their final visit of the term was particularly special, as they delivered a large collection of donated books and toys gathered from across our school community. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the relationships they have developed over the weeks.

Another group of Remove pupils has continued to visit residents at the Retail Trust Estate on Hammers Lane. Through activities such as bingo, indoor bowls, and plenty of conversation (and cake), these visits have become a highlight for both pupils and residents alike. It has been especially heartening to see these relationships grow stronger with each visit and we are looking forward to continuing this next term.

Our Sixth Form Charity Committee has also been incredibly active. Their Valentine’s stall was a great success, raising over £600 for Rethink Mental Illness, one of our Mill Hill School charities. For International Women’s Day, the committee worked in partnership with Fem Soc to sell ribbons in support of charitable causes, demonstrating both initiative and collaboration. In recent weeks, the committee have led a collection for Food Bank Aid’s 'Healthy Smiles' campaign, gathering toothbrushes and toothpaste for those in need.

Community and inclusion have also been at the heart of several events this term. Last week, ISOC, JSOC and the Christian Society came together to host a warm and welcoming community Iftar, bringing people together in a spirit of understanding and shared experience. This week, pupils have also organised both an Easter sale and a vibrant World Food sale, once again raising funds for our Mill Hill charities.

It has truly been a term full of energy, compassion and collaboration. These initiatives highlight not only the generosity of our pupils, but also the powerful impact we can have when we work together as a community.
