Cricket Highlights

As we head into half term, we wanted to reflect on what has been one of the most exciting first halves of a summer term for cricket in recent memory at Mill Hill.

The groundwork was laid well before the season began. Over 200 winter net sessions and 12 indoor fixtures built the foundations, and the results and performances we have seen this term are a direct product of that investment.
The highlights have been remarkable across the board. The Boys 1st XI & 2nd XI have recorded a historic first wins against Brentwood, 1st XI & U14A's beaten Haileybury convincingly, and currently sit in the top 20 in-form schools in the country. Blake, who has joined us from Hilton, has made an immediate impact, scoring 97 against Haileybury and contributing to the development of our Fourth Form and Remove players through coaching. The Boys 2nd XI also claimed a first-ever win against Brentwood, a landmark moment for the programme.

In the cups, the news is equally exciting. The Boys 1st XI, U15A and U14A boys are all through to the Middlesex Cup Quarter-Finals, while the Girls 1st XI have reached the Semi-Finals, a brilliant achievement and a huge milestone for girls' cricket at Mill Hill.

Beyond the cup runs, the individual and collective performances have been a joy to watch. Over ten fifties scored across all age groups, four five-wicket hauls, and a historic 158-run partnership for the U14B boys are just some of the highlights. This term has also seen a wonderful moment at Friday Night Lights, where all three senior teams - Boys 1st XI, Boys 2nd XI and Girls 1st XI - played simultaneously for the only time in the calendar year. Both boys' squads stayed on to cheer the Girls 1st XI through to the final ball. That kind of spirit is what Mill Hill Cricket is all about.

This Friday, the Boys 1st and 2nd XI face local rivals Aldenham in our final fixture before the break, before cup campaigns resume in earnest after half term.

A sincere thank you to our coaches and to all parents for the incredible support on and off the boundary this term. Have a wonderful half term, we cannot wait for what the second half of term brings.
