International Exchange Opportunities Continue to Flourish

Mill Hill School and Sunshine Coast Grammar School first established their partnership in Summer 2018, and since then we have proudly welcomed twelve SCGS pupils into our community, each specialising in sports including Rugby, Netball, Football and Cricket. During their time with us, these visiting students lived in one of our four boarding houses, represented Mill Hill in their preferred sport, coached our junior teams, and followed an adapted academic timetable.

In Summer 2019, the exchange travelled in the opposite direction for the first time, with three Mill Hill pupils, Zak, Callum and Kit (then in the Fifth Form), making the 10,000‑mile journey to experience school life in Australia and further develop their rugby. Their time abroad included representing the School in sport, coaching pre‑school children, and embracing Australian life and culture. A total of nine MHS pupils have enjoyed life‑changing experiences in Australia, including current pupils Alex C (Upper Sixth - Rugby), and Kitty M and Lily D (both Lower Sixth - Netball), whilst Lower Sixth pupil Ella S is currently out in Australia enjoying the Sunshine Coast’s 30‑degree summer.

From 2026, we are delighted to be expanding our international programme to include Hilton College in South Africa. Renowned for its excellence in Rugby, Cricket and Hockey, Hilton will provide even broader opportunities for our pupils, as well as increased flexibility around sport, timing and participation.

Looking ahead, the Mill Hill Heads of Sport have recently nominated a number of Fifth Form pupils who have demonstrated outstanding ability and commitment within our Core Sports programme, and who should therefore consider applying for the 2026 opportunities.

We are excited to continue broadening our global partnerships alongside the busy residential trips programme and look forward to facilitating more of these life‑changing experiences for our pupils.
