Lower Sixth Geography Trip

Lower Sixth Geographers have had a productive start to their NEA Independent Investigation with a field trip to Southwold this week. The NEA counts for 20% of the A-level.

Pupils investigated an issue of their choice undertaking primary data collection during the summer break. All A-level students spend 4 days in the field learning fieldwork methodology to prepare them for their own investigation. Following on from their visit to Battersea and Wandsworth in February 2026, Lower Sixth Geographers spent a further three days this week piloting methods on coastal engineering, second-home ownership, high street function and regeneration.

Evenings were spent glamping and toasting marshmallows around the fire, whilst having those much-needed conversations about potential NEA investigations. Despite a challenging weather forecast, the group stayed positive and focused.

The Geography department are excited to view the pupil's fieldwork proposals over the next fortnight and look forward to some excellent NEAs next academic year.
