Meet Ms Pritchard

How long have you worked at the school?

I have worked here since Jan 2022 so coming up for 4 years! The role has developed so much in the time I have been here and I look forward to progressing further.

What does your role involve?

My role is super varied! As Sports Therapist, my role is all about supporting our pupils’ health and performance in sport. During the week, I work with pupils on injury assessment, treatment, and personalised rehabilitation plans. This includes everyone from athletes on elite pathways to pupils who simply enjoy staying active and taking part in sport, both in and out of School.

At the weekends, you’ll find me pitch side, providing medical care during our busy matchdays, sometimes covering up to ten fixtures across three different sports! I love the variety of the job and the fact that no two days are ever the same. It’s incredibly rewarding to help pupils stay active, confident, and safe while doing what they enjoy.

What is the most rewarding moment you have experienced in your career?

I always find matchdays especially rewarding. Seeing pupils I’ve supported throughout their rehabilitation process step back onto the pitch, sometimes nervous but excited to be back to what they love, makes a busy matchday worthwhile.

Any invaluable advice for our pupils to make the most of their time here?

Don't be afraid to try! Give everything a go and you will find something you enjoy and want to pursue after school life. Taking part in Activities and sport in school will form some of the most valuable friendships and bonds for life!

If you could go back in time and give advice to your first-year teacher self, what would you say?

I’d tell my first-year self that confidence will come with experience. Keep listening, keep learning, and trust that you’re exactly where you need to be.

Did you participate in any extracurricular activities or clubs in school?

In school I was part of the Lacrosse team and Choir. The "time out" on the pitch or in rehearsals was so valuable to me to get out of the classroom and would encourage anyone to find their own escape outside the classroom.

Can you tell us something that we might not know about you?

I have represented English Schools in ski racing and have worked as a ski instructor!
