Fringe Festival

The 2026/27 Drama season got off to a spectacular start as the inaugural Mill Hill Fringe Festival took centre stage in our much-loved Patrick Troughton Theatre.

Across five days, four productions delighted pupils and parents alike, with performances at lunchtime and after school showcasing the breadth of talent, creativity and ambition within our school community.

The Festival opened with a timely and compelling production of An Inspector Calls, followed by Quiz, a gripping black comedy docudrama exploring the real-life events behind the infamous Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? coughing scandal. Both productions were performed by our Sixth Form pupils, whose performances demonstrated the confidence, versatility and exceptional acting talent flourishing at Mill Hill.

The Modern Languages department also took to the stage with an original play performed entirely in Spanish. The production was subsequently presented at the Hispanic Theatre Festival, where it earned the prestigious award for Best Spoken Spanish. A huge congratulations to everyone involved in this fantastic achievement!

The Festival drew to a vibrant close with a Performing Arts Showcase celebrating the talents of our actors, singers and dancers. Both Dance Troupes took to the stage, alongside a series of solos and group performances, several choreographed by the pupils themselves. Our Musical Theatre performers brought further energy to the occasion with songs from an eclectic mix of shows, ranging from Hamilton to Anyone Can Whistle with many more inbetween. The result was an uplifting celebration of performance, creativity and collaboration, greeted with rapturous applause from the audience.

Beyond the excitement of the Fringe Festival, rehearsals are already underway for three of the major productions in this year's season: Macbeth, Wendy & Peter Pan and Les Misérables, which will take to the stage at the artsdepot Theatre in Finchley in January. With more than 100 pupils involved across the three productions, the season promises to be our most ambitious and star-studded yet.

The Fringe Festival has set the bar high, and we can't wait to see what the months ahead will bring. We look forward to welcoming many of you back to the Patrick Troughton Theatre, and to artsdepot, to share in the magic of another exciting year of drama at Mill Hill!
