Careers

There are plenty of opportunities for students of all year groups to further explore subject areas of interest and different career pathways. Starting to build a portfolio of experiences early on will help you to develop the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to be a standout candidate to universities and employers. Take some time over your summer to work through the suggestions below.

Fifth Form

As you enter Sixth Form, you will start to take part in different careers-related experiences that help you find out more about a range of career and academic pathways. These activities will also form part of what you write about on your personal statement when you come to apply to university or an apprenticeship. It is a good idea to start thinking about this early, as it gives you time to build on your subject area of interest and demonstrate important transferable skills.

The best place to start is with the Sixth Form Careers Bulletin, which you will use throughout your Sixth Form experience to access work experience, alumni events, subject tasters and more.
