A positive and productive start to term

We have had a positive and productive start to the new academic year. It was lovely to see pupils and staff from across the Foundation come together last week for the first Foundation Fun Run in aid of A Better Chance Bursaries. The Portico and Top Terrace were a stunning backdrop to this inaugural event. The atmosphere on the day was fantastic and I was pleased that so many parents were able to join us to support the pupils in their fundraising efforts.

Earlier this week our Music Scholars kicked off the programme of musical events for the year with the Scholars’ Concert. We were treated to performances by pupils from across all year groups playing a variety of music ranging from Vivaldi and Chopin, to Mericanto and Albéniz. What a wonderful start to the musical year!

Today we took part in the annual Jeans for Genes Day. The Charity Committee organised a bake sale and we also ran a themed inter-house cake competition. I think Mary Berry would have been pleased with the creations. Congratulations to Tanya Redif (Atkinson) on her winning entry. Maria Stalmanis (McClure) and Hannah Beckett (Murray) were worthy runners up.

We are busy putting the final touches to tomorrow’s Foundation Day and we are looking forward to welcoming more parents than ever to celebrate with us.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Jane Sanchez
