International Applications 2024

We welcome applications from international boarding candidates. The available entry points are Year 9 (13+), Year 10 (14+) and Year 12 (16+ Sixth Form).

The first step is to confirm availability and suitability with our team. Please contact the team via email: international@millhill.org.uk. Please note, there are no fixed deadlines for applications, numbers are restricted by boarding and availability.

Documents required

Once availability/eligibility is confirmed, please provide:

  • Two latest school reports (translated into English)
  • Passport copy
  • Year 12/Sixth Form applicants may be required to provide subject specific information (eg. Art – portfolio of work)
  • We may also require a contact at your current school to obtain a pastoral reference

Register

Complete the online registration process.

Once the above information and registration are processed, one of our team will then make contact to arrange the entrance assessments.

Entrance Assessments

  • Online Oxford Placement Test (OPT) testing Use of English and Listening skills (for non-native speakers of English)
  • Written English assignment(s)
  • CAT 4 (Cognitive Abilities Test) – an assessment that is designed to understand what students’ academic potential might be. Tasks involve non-verbal reasoning, verbal reasoning, quantitative and spatial abilities.

(Please note, there are no sample/practice tests recommended)

Successful candidates are then put forward for interview.


Interview

Year 9 and Year 10 applicants: Interview with the Head of EAL (non-native English speakers), Deputy Head (Academic) (native English speakers)

Year 12: Interview with the Head of EAL (non-native English speakers); General Sixth Form interview with one of the Senior Leadership Team. Please note, some A Level subjects may have additional requirements (eg. Art – a portfolio of work will be requested)

Successful applicants will be notified with an official Offer Letter.
