So, Huw, what excites you most about Mill Hill?

“I am really looking forward to working in a thriving sports department which from what I have seen so far strives for excellence at every opportunity. The staff are all pulling in the same direction and I can't wait to be part of it.”

And what makes coaching in a school environment so rewarding?

“Having the ability to leave a lasting impact on pupils through their school journey. There is nothing more rewarding than helping to shape a pupil and guide them whether it be on the hockey pitch or not.”

Hockey has been a huge part of your life—what keeps your passion alive?

“I have been involved in it for so many years now, the people I have met and the experiences I have had have really made me the person I am today. I owe alot to hockey and I hope I can give back in school and with the club.”

The Director of Sport’s Take

Director of Sport, Aaron Liffchak, is calling this a ‘huge signing’ for the school, he shared, “I am delighted to welcome Huw Stevens to our team. Huw's extensive experience and impressive track record in international, club, and school hockey are exactly what we need to elevate our programmes to the next level. We are truly looking forward to seeing both our boys' and girls' hockey teams at Mill Hill School and our Prep School, Belmont, flourish under his guidance. Moreover, with Huw also serving as the Men's 1st Coach at Southgate Hockey Club, we are enthusiastic about the potential to strengthen our relationship with the club. This is an exciting time for our hockey programme, and I eagerly anticipate watching our pupils grow and develop their skills with Huw's support.”
