What a marvellous start to the second half of the Autumn Term Year 1 have had! We kicked it off with Forest School where we made leaf Catherine Wheels using split pins and lit sparklers to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night. We also collected loads of colourful leaves and seeds to make our very own Wild Child costumes which we then paraded in our Year 1 Wild Child Fashion Show! All of the children had a ball!
This week, we also learned about the life and work of Andy Goldsworthy, a famous British artist who uses natural materials to create sculptures and artwork outdoors. We then created our own Andy Goldsworthy inspired artwork outdoors and thought carefully about how different sizes and shades of colour can be used for effect.
