The Nursery is for 3 – 4 year olds. We offer morning or afternoon sessions. It is situated on the ground floor with access straight on to the outdoor learning environment. Opportunities to meet the other year groups and staff are available during the term, so that integration into the main school is made easy.
Nursery AM starts with Registration at 8.30am and ends at 11.35am.
Nursery PM starts with Registration at 12.20 and ends at 3.05pm.
Reception is for children aged four and five. The three Reception classes have access to a timetabled outdoor classroom to provide the children with free flow access to the outdoor learning environment.
The children enjoy learning and developing their skills through a variety of adult led and child initiated activities.
They will learn to work independently as well as part of a team. The children are supported and encouraged throughout the year to ensure a smooth transition into Year 1.
Reception starts with drop off between 8.15 and 8.30 and Registration at 8.30am. The day ends at 3.00pm.
Your child’s first years in school are incredibly precious and we want you to feel as included in the process as possible.
In the Summer Term before your child starts, parents are invited to a ‘Welcome Evening’ where you will meet your class teacher/Keyworker and fellow parents. There will be a talk and you will see your child’s classroom. Later in the Summer Term you will be invited to a settling in session where the children can see their new classroom and meet some of their peers. In September the children will come in on their first day at staggered intervals to allow us time to settle all the children.
Working together with parents to share your child’s journey through the early years is important to us. So that you can see your child’s progress in real time, we use a programme called Tapestry. This allows parents to view photographic and video observations taken of the children in class. We also invite parents into class every Friday for an Open House session to view the children’s work.
